Mentor-Protégé Program

What’s the MPP, or
Mentor-Protégé Program?

The DoD's Mentor-Protégé Program (MPP), established during the First Gulf War, is the oldest continuously running federal mentor-protégé initiative, designed to help small businesses expand in the defense sector. Mentors incorporate the MPP into their sourcing strategies, while protégés gain technical and business expertise, fostering mutually beneficial relationships. Previous MPP efforts have supported a wide range of areas, including general business management, engineering, cybersecurity, and HBCU internship programs.
